We began our search for Uma about 9 months ago. The internet led us to 3 breeders we were interested
in. We finally decided on Katzel Kennals in Minnesota. Beth was a pleasure to deal with the whole time.
We put a deposite down on one of the dogs that was to come in heat last summer....about a week before the babies were due
we found out she never got pregnant. We switched our deposit to another dog that was about to have puppies the next
month and guess what....she only had 2 boys (we were waiting for a girl) then they imported a pregnant female in from Slovokia
and guess what again....about a few days before she was to deliver we found out she too was not pregnant. Poor Beth.
And our girls were awfully sad. So we told the girls we were putting the dog search on hold till spring.
Beth did have some news for us when we were told of the bad news the last dog was not going to have puppies.
She knew of a litter of puppies in Slovokia that were exactlly what we were looking for. After some waiting we finally
got the green light. We were importing a puppy from Slovokia. We saw a few photos on the internet before she came...but
did not know which one she was.
We decided to keep the girls in the dark until the moment they were going to see her. When she finally
arrived (about 3 weeks later) we drove down to Cambridge Minnesota on our way to MPLS for Thanksgiving at Kelly's family house.
As we were pulling up to the house...we had Sienna read a poem out loud. It basically stated that the girls have been
good this year...but that our money has been spent and the tree would have less. When the card was opened it revealed
the good news we were here to see UMA! Miranda started to cry and the others jumped out of their seats. When we
walked in she was wearing a red bow.
She was the biggest of all the puppies and just what we had hoped for. Katzel Kennals had delivered
us the best puppy! Thank you Beth. I am so glad we waited.
3 days later we picked her up on our way home. The 7 hour ride home was perfect. She sat on
Kellys lap the entire way. She went potty every time we stopped and only whined when we got into our town a few minutes
from home! She was sooooo good. Our first night went well. She did not whine in her kennal except for when
she woke up and needed to go outside. She even has learned how to sit for a treat and only needs to be told once.
The girls are great Uma helpers. Sienna and Jilly put aprons on this morning with toys, treats and paper towels in
the pockets so they are ready for anything.........
